Assam Rifles Seize Rs15.4 Crore Heroin, Arrest Thangsuanman in Churachandpur

Thangsuanman Arrested with 1,518 grams of Heroin in Churachandpur District

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Assam Rifles seized 1,518 grams of suspected Heroin No. 4, concealed in 132 soap cases, with an estimated value of approximately Rs15.4 crore, at Thingkangphai Village, Churachandpur district.

Acting on reliable intelligence, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted a white Mahindra Bolero late Monday night at Thingkangphai Village. During the operation, they arrested the vehicle’s driver, identified as Thangsuanman (44) from M Tanglian Village.

The arrested individual, along with the seized contraband and the vehicle, has been handed over to the Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings under the NDPS Act, 1985, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence.
