In their continuous battle against drug trafficking, Assam Police executed two successful anti-narcotics operations, resulting in the seizure of heroin and the arrest of two individuals.
In the first operation, a team from Nagaon Police, led by Jajori Police Station, seized seven plastic containers containing 1.92 grams of suspected heroin. The arrested individual is in custody as further legal proceedings unfold.
Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, the Panbazar Police Station of Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) conducted a search at 2 No. Railway Gate. There, they arrested 21-year-old Puja Deka, who was allegedly selling heroin. The police seized 16 vials containing 21.89 grams of heroin, along with a Samsung mobile phone.
The police reiterated their commitment to the ongoing War On Drugs initiative, aiming to crack down on illegal drug activities. Further investigations are underway.
In addition, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the Assam Police for their efforts, following a major drug bust conducted by Cachar Police on March 2, where drugs worth Rs 1.5 crore were seized.
