Police in San Antonio arrested three people linked to a series of vehicle thefts targeting parents who left their cars running during daycare drop-offs in Stone Oak.
Ashton Walker White, 25, Stephanie Alvarado, 41, and Rodolfo Martinez, 44, were taken into custody Monday after investigators tracked them to a residence connected to the thefts.
White was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and failure to identify as a fugitive with intent to give false information. Alvarado and Martinez were arrested on unrelated charges, and it is unclear if they will face charges related to the vehicle theft investigation.
The incidents began shortly after 8 a.m. at the Children’s Center of Stone Oak, where one suspect reportedly stole a vehicle left running during a child drop-off.
Investigators later located the suspects and the stolen vehicles at a home, where all three were detained and subsequently booked into jail.
