In a major theft case in Vellore, a couple and two accomplices were arrested for stealing eight sovereigns of gold jewellery, silver items, and Rs2.5 lakh cash from a landowner’s residence in Virinchipuram village, on the outskirts of Vellore Corporation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ashok Kumar, 42, his wife Lakshmi, 38, along with accomplices Anjali, 34, and her husband Vimal, 37. All four are residents of Vellore.
Police investigations are ongoing to recover the stolen items and determine whether the suspects were involved in other similar thefts in the region.
