The Cyber Crime Cell of the UT Police has arrested five individuals from Rajasthan for orchestrating a major online investment fraud that cost a city resident Rs56.26 lakh. The accused ran a fraudulent trading operation through a fake stock platform named “IBKR (Interactive Broker)”, luring victims with promises of high returns.

The victim, Ashok Kumar, a resident of Sector 35, reported that he was enticed into transferring large sums to various bank accounts. After the transactions were completed, the fraudsters blocked him from all communication channels, including WhatsApp groups that were used to build trust.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Mukesh Kumar Gujar (Jaipur)

Ramji Lal Meena (Jaipur)

Vijay Kumar Yogi

Aditya Kumar Jain

Tanishq Marmat a.k.a. Honey (Sawai Madhopur)

Police nabbed them from Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.

Investigators revealed that the suspects were part of a larger pan-India cybercrime syndicate, with links extending to Rajasthan, Gujarat, and even Dubai. One of their known associates, Roopresh Sharma, had already been arrested earlier by Rajkot Cyber Crime Police in Gujarat.

Other accomplices, Sahil and Gokul, both from Sawai Madhopur, remain at large.

The mobile phones recovered from the accused are now under forensic examination to uncover more evidence and trace the full extent of the fraud.
