VENUS, Texas — Social media influencer Ashley Nicole Trevino, also known as Ash Trevino, was arrested in North Texas on Dec. 17 on active felony warrants related to healthcare and welfare fraud, according to court records.
Authorities said Trevino, 36, was wanted on a felony healthcare fraud warrant from Ellis County. An officer on an unrelated call spotted Trevino in a white BMW outside a residence in Venus and recognized her from previous encounters. She complied with police commands and was taken into custody without incident. Upon arrival at Ellis County Jail, officers confirmed two active felony warrants for fraud.
Trevino faces two state jail felonies, the lowest-level felony in Texas. The first count involves welfare fraud, allegedly spanning a five-year period from May 2019 to July 2024. Prosecutors claim Trevino used deception to obtain SNAP and Medicaid benefits, with a total alleged fraud value between $2,500 and $30,000.
The second count is healthcare fraud. Authorities allege Trevino concealed or failed to report additional income to receive Medicaid benefits she was not eligible for or that exceeded authorized amounts.
Trevino has posted bond and, according to TMZ, took to social media immediately after her release. In an Instagram Live, she laughed, vowed to fight the charges, and asked whether she could still travel out of state.
Trevino is a content creator with more than 500,000 followers across Instagram and Snapchat. She has gained notoriety for her “prison wife” content, relationships with inmates, and previous controversies, including dating a 19-year-old TikToker and livestreaming from a hospital to solicit gifts.
