SAN ANTONIO (KABB/WOAI) — Ashley Pardo, who already faces charges for allegedly helping her son plan a mass attack on Rhodes Middle School, was arrested again on Friday, August 1, on a new felony charge: Abandoning or Endangering a Child with Criminal Negligence, according to Bexar County records.
This charge originates from a previously undisclosed 2023 incident that emerged during an ongoing terrorism investigation. Investigators reportedly uncovered disturbing images on Pardo’s phone while executing a search warrant related to her son’s case.
One photo, dated March 3, 2023, appears to show Pardo pointing a shotgun at an 11-month-old baby. According to the affidavit, the child is seen kneeling on a bed with their head near the shotgun’s barrel. Pardo’s finger is visibly inside the trigger guard. The photo was allegedly sent to the child’s biological father along with a message that read: “Tell her to keep being bad.”
Authorities confirmed Pardo’s identity in the photo through distinctive tattoos on her hand and forearm. Investigators noted the extreme danger the child was placed in, leading to the new charge.
This marks a significant escalation in the legal case against Pardo. She was previously charged in May 2025 with Aiding in the Commission of Terrorism. Police claim she supported her son’s fascination with mass shootings by providing tactical gear, ammunition, and access to military surplus stores, while ignoring signs of his increasingly violent and extremist behavior.
Pardo was initially released on a $75,000 bond following the terrorism charge but is now back in custody under the new child endangerment allegation.
Her husband, Mario Porras, was also arrested in May 2025 on the same child endangerment charge, according to Bexar County jail records.
Pardo’s teenage son remains in detention after a judge ruled in June that he poses a serious risk to public safety. A search of his room earlier this year uncovered a homemade explosive device, loaded magazines, and a disturbing note referencing mass shootings and Nazi ideology.
