Galesburg police have arrested a 32-year-old woman in connection with a November crash that killed a local resident.
Ashley England was taken into custody on Dec. 23 and faces charges including aggravated DUI, reckless homicide, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance, according to authorities.
The charges stem from a two-vehicle crash on Nov. 22 that killed 72-year-old Marte Glass of Galesburg. Police responded to the 1300 block of South Lake Storey Road at 9:17 a.m. following reports of the collision.
Officials said both England and Glass were the only occupants of their vehicles. Both suffered severe injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in Peoria, Illinois. Glass later died from her injuries on Nov. 30.
England is currently being held in the Knox County Jail as the investigation continues. Authorities have not released additional details.
