FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — Two people were arrested late Monday night after officers discovered a stolen vehicle and recovered fentanyl during an investigation at a local gas station.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:29 p.m. on March 2, 2026, at Sheetz.
Officer M.S. Kees approached a suspicious vehicle parked at the location. During the investigation, Officer Kees and Officer K. Cullum determined the vehicle had been reported stolen. Authorities also recovered approximately 7.4 grams of fentanyl.
The driver, Ashley R. Bowles, was arrested and charged with:
Conspiracy
Receiving a stolen vehicle
Possession of a controlled substance
The passenger, Bobby M. Bowles, was charged with:
Conspiracy
Receiving a stolen vehicle
Both were transported to the Southern Regional Jail following their arrests.
Police Chief T.M. Hogan said the case reflects the department’s continued efforts to address crime and protect the community.
