Ashish Singhala Arrested with Smack Worth Rs54 Lakh in Dehradun

Drug smuggler caught in joint operation, Rs63,490 cash also seized

In a successful joint operation conducted by the Anti Narcotics Task Force of the Special Task Force (STF) and Dehradun police, Ashish Singhala, a security guard from Naya Basti, was arrested on Thursday night in Dehradun for drug smuggling.

Singhala was found in possession of 163 grams of smack, worth an estimated Rs54 lakh. Additionally, the authorities seized Rs63,490 in cash, which Singhal had earned from selling the drugs locally.

The operation took place at the Mothrawala Community Hall, where Singhala was arrested. During questioning, Singhala, who previously had a run-in with the law, confessed that he had brought the smack from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and was selling it in small quantities to local boys.

According to Navneet Singh Bhullar, the SSP of STF, Singhal has been previously jailed under the Narcotic Drugs And Psychotropic Substances Act and is now facing additional charges for the possession and trafficking of illicit substances.
