SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. — A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly targeting minors over social media to sell drugs and attempt sexual assault, authorities said.
The San Luis Obispo Police Department (SLOPD) began investigating after a local medical facility reported that a juvenile patient disclosed inappropriate contact by an adult male in August. The allegations included supplying narcotics to a minor and arranging to meet with the intent to commit a lewd act.
SLOPD detectives identified the suspect as Arturo Rodriguez Reyna, who reportedly contacted multiple girls under the age of 16 via text messages and social media, offering cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. On one occasion, he allegedly attempted to sexually assault one of the victims. A second underage victim was later identified during the investigation.
Police executed a search warrant at Reyna’s residence on the 1300 block of Diablo in San Luis Obispo. Evidence related to the crimes was recovered, including several firearms—among them an unregistered and illegally modified AR-15–style rifle.
Two other residents at the property were arrested for narcotics and weapons violations. Reyna was taken into custody and booked on multiple charges related to drug distribution and sexual assault.
