The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department has issued an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Eric Jones, Jr., of Brookhaven, Mississippi, in connection with the theft of a 2020 white Dodge Charger from Alcorn State University (ASU) campus in early October. On October 2, a concerned parent reported the vehicle stolen from ASU’s new dorm area. Authorities discovered that two vehicles left the campus around 4 a.m., and their absence was reported by 6:30 a.m.
Following a joint investigation with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, one of the vehicles was recovered, and 21-year-old Tony Bussey from Brookhaven was arrested and has since posted bond. Jones remains at large, and the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department urges anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 601-437-5161. Additional arrests may follow.
