A 22-year-old man was arrested in Gun Barrel City, Texas, on Saturday evening after he allegedly threatened to “shoot up the store” at Walmart. Police responded to the call at around 6:30 p.m. and found the suspect, John Thomas Martin of Kerrville, inside the store.

Upon investigation, officers discovered Martin was carrying a Glock 10MM semi-automatic handgun, an extended magazine, and 63 rounds of ammunition in three magazines. In addition, he was wearing a ballistic vest underneath his hoodie and had shooting ear plugs.

Martin was arrested and charged with terroristic threat and unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was previously arrested in 2022 on a similar charge of terroristic threat. As of now, no bond has been set for his release.
