Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) has successfully cracked down on a vehicle theft gang responsible for multiple heists across several districts.
Police recovered ten stolen four-wheelers and arrested two key suspects: 25-year-old Arman Saha and 23-year-old Iftikar Alam.
Operating mainly in Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Cuttack, and Puri, the gang targeted vehicles parked along roadsides at night, using duplicate keys to steal them. The stolen cars were hidden in forests near Pipili, where the gang removed license plates before either reselling them or scrapping the vehicles.
Both suspects are in custody as investigations continue to track down other gang members. The recovered vehicles include models like Scorpio, Bolero pickups, Tata Ace, and one heavily dismantled four-wheeler.
Authorities have urged vehicle owners to stay alert and take preventive measures to protect their property. Further police action is ongoing to dismantle the full criminal network.
