In a significant drug bust, Arki police arrested Amar Dev, 57, during a late-night operation on July 23-24, seizing over 112 grams of cannabis. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a Maruti S-Presso along the Kunihar-Piplughat route and recovered the contraband from the vehicle.
Amar Dev, a resident of Nauni near Darlaghat, was taken into custody along with the seized cannabis and the vehicle. A case under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Arki Police Station.
The accused was presented in court for remand, and police are currently verifying his criminal background due to the large quantity involved. Solan’s Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Singh, reaffirmed the district police’s resolve to fight drug trafficking and urged citizens to report suspicious activities promptly.
