Arjun Sabar Arrested for Killing Uncle in Gajapati’s Sagadia Village

Man confesses to fatal assault over dispute regarding medicine

A 35-year-old man from Sagadia village, Arjun Sabar, walked into the Garabandh police station in Gajapati district on Wednesday and confessed to killing his uncle, Somanath Sabar (55).

According to police, Arjun was suffering from a high fever for two days. Concerned about his nephew, Somanath went to a hospital in nearby Mandasa, Andhra Pradesh, and brought medicines for him. Upon reaching Arjun’s home, Somanath asked him to take the medicines, but Arjun refused. A heated argument ensued, and in a fit of rage, Arjun struck his uncle’s head with a wooden plank, killing him on the spot.

Later realizing the gravity of his actions, Arjun voluntarily surrendered and narrated the incident to the police.

A police team, led by Paralakhemundi SDPO Madhabananda Nayak, visited Sagadia village and sent Somanath’s body for an autopsy at the district headquarters hospital. A case has been registered, Arjun has been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing.
