WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Ariel Delgadillo, 43, was arrested following a violent assault on a woman early Saturday morning on the 500 block of West Biddle Street, according to court documents.
West Chester police responded around 4:15 a.m. on Sept. 13 after receiving a report of an assault with injuries. Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from severe swelling and bruising to her face and head. The victim identified Delgadillo through her passport and personal recognition as the attacker.
The affidavit detailed that Delgadillo tackled the victim to the ground and struck her repeatedly until she lost consciousness. He then covered her mouth and nose, keeping her unconscious. When the victim regained consciousness, Delgadillo allegedly attempted to sexually assault her, tore part of her clothing, and forced her unconscious again. She was left outside in the driveway for hours before waking and calling the police.
Medical examination at Paoli Hospital revealed the victim suffered internal skull injuries and abrasions across her body. A sexual assault exam found evidence supporting the victim’s account.
Delgadillo faces a series of charges including Felony Attempted Homicide, Felony Aggravated Assault, Felony Rape by Forcible Compulsion, Felony Rape of an Unconscious Victim, Felony Strangulation, Felony Sexual Assault, Misdemeanor Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
His preliminary hearing is pending in District Court 15-1-01, authorities said.
