In a swift breakthrough, Awantipora Police solved a theft case involving a stolen mobile phone and Rs15,000 cash from a residence in Chersoo village. Acting on a complaint filed by Khursheed Ahmad Lone, police registered FIR No. 138/2025 and launched an immediate investigation.
Utilizing modern investigative techniques and analyzing CCTV footage from various locations, police identified the accused as Aqib Hussain Wanai, son of Late Fayaz Ahmad Wani, a resident of Gaat Tokina. Aqib was promptly arrested, and both the stolen mobile phone and the full amount of cash were recovered from his possession.
Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine if the accused was involved in other similar crimes.
