Anurag Kumar, Zeeshan Syed Held in Forex Scam Case

Delhi Police bust syndicate linked to Dubai handlers

The Delhi Police have arrested three individuals, including a sales manager of a private bank, for their alleged involvement in an interstate syndicate linked to a large-scale forex trading scam operated by Dubai-based handlers, officials said on Monday.

The arrested accused were identified as Anurag Kumar, a mule-account provider; Zeeshan Syed, a private-bank sales manager; and Himanshu Gupta, a key handler with a history of cheating and forgery.

According to police, the trio formed part of a network that created shell companies and multiple mule current accounts to layer and launder money collected through fraudulent investment schemes. Victims were lured via social media groups showcasing manipulated dashboards designed to display fictitious forex trading profits.

Misled by these fabricated returns, victims repeatedly deposited money, which was then funneled through a maze of accounts opened under entities such as Rebootz Sync Professionals Pvt Ltd and ThinkSync Professionals Pvt Ltd. Entire banking kits—ATM cards, cheque books, SIM cards, and net-banking credentials—were allegedly handed over to cybercriminals operating from Dubai.

A Dubai-based handler identified as Abdul, alias Vicky, is currently under investigation.

The arrests were made during separate operations in Delhi and Faridabad. Police said Anurag Kumar opened multiple mule accounts and transferred control to other operators for Rs2 lakh, while bank official Zeeshan Syed misused his position to provide fraudulent access to corporate accounts, receiving Rs70,000 in return. Himanshu Gupta acted as the main coordinator, connecting on-ground operatives with the Dubai handler.

The syndicate reportedly defrauded at least one victim of nearly ₹40 lakh, and investigators believe more individuals may have been targeted. Authorities are now working to identify additional members of the network and trace the international flow of funds.
