In a coordinated crackdown on Sunday, Patna police arrested seven individuals linked to three distinct criminal cases involving extortion, murder, and a shooting across Rajiv Nagar, Parsa Bazar, and Khusrupur in Patna, said SSP Kartikeya K Sharma.
On June 19, Anuj Kumar allegedly demanded Rs10 lakh from his uncle’s friend, victim Pritam Kumar Singh, threatening to kill his only son. Anuj was apprehended in Chhapra and taken into custody following a complaint filed by Singh.
Also on June 19, the body of Suraj, a Saran native residing in Beur, was found in Etwarpur (Parsa Bazar police district). Investigation revealed a plot involving Gudiya Kumari, her husband Vijay Kumar, and her other lover Ashwin Kumar. Suraj had allegedly blackmailed Gudiya, prompting the trio to kill him. Police recovered the murder weapon—a knife—and arrested all three suspects.
A shootout erupted near Paswan Chowk in Khusrupur over group rivalry. Police detained three unnamed individuals from both factions, seizing three firearms and 12 cartridges from the suspects.
