In a shocking incident from Delhi’s Shahdara, a 32-year-old woman named Anu Goyal has been arrested for allegedly killing her 55-year-old father, Tek Chand Goyal, during a domestic dispute. The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon at their residence in Ramnagar.
The police were alerted after GTB Hospital informed them around 3:56 pm about the admission of Tek Chand, who was brought in by his son Shivam in an unconscious condition. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
According to police officials, Shivam stated that his sister Anu, along with their mother Bala Devi and his wife Priya (29), were present in the house at the time of the incident. He was told by Priya that Anu had struck their father with a pan following a heated argument.
Anu, who is reportedly unmarried and undergoing treatment for intellectual disability, has been taken into custody. The family has allegedly been involved in frequent altercations, which may have contributed to the tragic event.
A case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are continuing the investigation, recording statements from family members and awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm the exact cause of death.
