Maysville Man Arrested in Major Drug & Weapons Bust
MAYSVILLE, NC – A Maysville resident is facing a lengthy list of felony drug and firearms charges after a large-scale operation led to the seizure of nearly six kilograms of illegal narcotics, cash, and weapons.
Antonio Brinson Whitney, 47, was arrested on Friday, February 21, after members of the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) executed a search warrant at his home on Peach Lane. The operation was carried out with the support of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), Jacksonville Police Department’s Special Operations Division, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
During the search, law enforcement officials seized:
4,346 grams of methamphetamine
1,155 grams of cocaine
316 grams of fentanyl
9 firearms, including one that was reported stolen
$12,518 in cash
2 vehicles
Whitney now faces the following felony charges:
2 counts – Trafficking Methamphetamine
2 counts – Trafficking Opium/Heroin
2 counts – Trafficking Cocaine
Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Manufacture of Methamphetamine
Manufacture of Cocaine
Manufacture of Schedule II Controlled Substances
PWIMSD Methamphetamine (Possess With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, Deliver)
PWIMSD Cocaine
PWIMSD Schedule II Controlled Substances
Maintain a Dwelling for Controlled Substances
Whitney is currently held at the Onslow County Detention Center under a $1.3 million secured bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 17, 2025.
