MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — A 33-year-old Marshalltown man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly assaulted a victim, stole their car, and led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit, police said.
On Wednesday evening, Marshalltown Police responded to a robbery report on West Main Street around 8 p.m. The victim told officers that Antonio Lizarde attacked them and stole their vehicle. During the incident, Lizarde reportedly tried to run the victim over, but they escaped with minor injuries.
Flock security cameras captured the stolen car shortly after the attack. Officers located the vehicle near 3rd Avenue and Main Street, but Lizarde fled when they attempted a traffic stop.
The Marshalltown Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office pursued the suspect through Ferguson, onto Highway 14, and back into Marshalltown. Authorities deployed tire-deflating devices, eventually forcing Lizarde to crash in a parking lot at Center Street and Westwood Drive, where he was arrested.
Lizarde is now facing the following charges:

Attempted Murder
Eluding
Driving While Barred
OWI – 1st Offense
Interference with Official Acts Causing Injury
