Lexington Park, MD – Antonio Gross, 35, of Lexington Park, was arrested on Sunday, March 16, 2025, following an armed robbery and assault incident in the area, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. Gross now faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, theft under $100, and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred just before 11:15 p.m. on Great Mills Road, when deputies responded to a reported robbery. The adult male victim told officers he was approached by an unknown male behind a store. The suspect allegedly demanded the victim’s belongings, and when the victim resisted, the suspect pulled out a knife and continued his demands. The victim reported that two vapes, $10 in cash, and a $20 Walmart gift card were stolen.

Deputies located Gross nearby, wearing clothing matching the victim’s description. During questioning, Gross admitted to an altercation with the victim but denied using a weapon. A subsequent search revealed a knife and the stolen items in his possession.

Surveillance footage reviewed by law enforcement reportedly shows Gross aggressively approaching the victim, engaging in a confrontation, and overpowering him. The footage also allegedly shows Gross leaving the scene with the stolen items in hand and rummaging through the victim’s bag.

Gross was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. At his initial court appearance on March 17, he was ordered to be held without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 14, 2025, at the St. Mary’s District Court.

In a separate incident on the same day, around 6:28 p.m., police responded to the rear of a business on Great Mills Road for another reported robbery and assault. The victim claimed he was attacked by three black males, one of whom was armed with a knife. Police responded quickly to the scene, located just across from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office District 4 Station. Emergency medical services evaluated the victim, who later refused treatment.

It is still unclear if any property was stolen during this assault. Authorities are continuing to investigate the reported robbery, and updates will be provided by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
