PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, OH — A man and woman have been charged with murder following the discovery of a deceased man inside a Prairie Township home on May 1, according to WBNS in Columbus.
Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. to a home on Hall Road after a resident called 911, reporting an unconscious man who appeared to have been assaulted. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Authorities later charged Anthony Kuhn and Nichole Adkins, both 42, with murder in connection to the incident. Kuhn also faces an aggravated robbery charge and is being held on a $2 million bond.
The 911 caller told police he had left the house around 12:50 a.m. to take a roommate to the hospital. When he returned around 3:30 a.m., the house was ransacked. Believing the victim was asleep, he didn’t investigate further until later.
A witness told investigators he had been staying in Kuhn’s trailer, which was parked in the driveway. He said Adkins returned from work around 12:30 a.m. and showered inside the home at 2 a.m. Shortly after, Kuhn entered the house and returned roughly 30 minutes later, allegedly saying, “I can’t believe what I did,” without elaborating.
The group then drove to buy narcotics and discarded several of the victim’s personal belongings—including a wallet, hat, baseball cards, and medication—at various locations, including a sewer and an apartment complex.
Adkins told authorities she heard a commotion while in the bathroom. When she came out, Kuhn allegedly had blood on his face and handed her a baseball bat, instructing her to stand guard at the door.
Investigators recovered several discarded items linked to the victim, including a bloodstained shirt.
Adkins is expected to appear in court on Monday.
