INWOOD, N.Y. (ABC4) — A Valley Stream man has been charged with murder after authorities say he killed a man in Inwood over the weekend.
According to court documents, Anthony Iacomino is accused of killing Joseph Iacomino on Sunday. Investigators say the suspect went to the victim’s Wahl Avenue home around 7 p.m., where the deadly attack occurred.
Police discovered Joseph Iacomino dead the next day, suffering from blunt force trauma.
Anthony Iacomino was arrested and arraigned Tuesday and is currently being held without bail.
Neighbors expressed shock over the killing, describing the quiet Inwood neighborhood as typically peaceful.
“I’m stunned — that’s really sad,” said Sharon Wright, a resident of nearby Far Rockaway. “It’s always quiet here. There are children everywhere. You don’t expect something like this.”
“It’s scary. I live on this street,” said Natalie Vasques, an Inwood resident. “When I got home from work, I saw four police cars and an ambulance. It’s extremely rare to see that.”
Police have not yet released a possible motive in the case. The investigation remains ongoing.
