CALDWELL, Idaho — Caldwell Police arrested two people on drug and firearms charges Friday night after responding to a domestic disturbance that escalated into a major narcotics investigation.
Officers with Patrol and Operation Safe Streets (OSS) were called to the Stardust Mobile Home Park, where they stopped a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was occupied by Anthony Gomez, identified by police as a known gang member, and Stormy Rachel Stephens.
During the investigation, officers determined Stephens was under the influence of methamphetamine and in possession of a loaded firearm. Police said Gomez was on parole for previous narcotics trafficking convictions.
A search of the vehicle uncovered significant quantities of illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl powder, and hundreds of fentanyl pills, along with another loaded firearm. Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Gomez’s residence, where they recovered two additional firearms, roughly 600 fentanyl pills, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
In total, authorities seized four ounces of methamphetamine, 6.5 grams of powdered fentanyl, 834 fentanyl pills, and four firearms.
Gomez was booked into jail on multiple drug trafficking and weapons charges. Police said additional charges are pending for both suspects as the investigation continues.
