The Bhopal Crime Branch on Thursday arrested a notorious criminal, Anshul Singh alias Bhuri, in connection with a major drug trafficking case that spans multiple states. Singh, a resident of Gokul Dham, Tulsi Nagar, has a history of serious criminal charges, with over 18 cases registered against him, including attempt to murder, rioting, assault, violations of the Arms Act, and narcotics-related offenses.
According to Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan, Singh’s name emerged during the interrogation of Yasin and Shahwar, two key drug peddlers already in judicial custody. Authorities believe Singh played a crucial role in the drug supply chain, acting as a link between interstate suppliers and local distributors across several districts in Madhya Pradesh.
Singh was produced before the court on Thursday and has been remanded to police custody until August 4. His interrogation is expected to shed light on the operational structure of the syndicate, particularly how drugs were sourced from four different states and routed into MP.
Officials stated that Singh’s arrest could significantly disrupt the supply chain of narcotics in the region.
