Para police have arrested four young men in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Sheetal, a resident of Narpat Khera. The accused — Anshu Gautam (20), Aashiq Yadav (20), Rishu Yadav (20), and Vaibhav Singh Rajput (23) — allegedly conspired to kill the girl after luring her under the pretext of marriage.
According to police reports, Sheetal went missing on the evening of January 13, 2026, after leaving her home. Her mother lodged a missing person complaint on January 16. Investigations revealed that Anshu had befriended the girl via Instagram, and tensions arose when she also communicated with Anshu’s friend, Aashiq.
Police stated that the four accused abducted Sheetal in an SUV, assaulted and strangled her, and later placed her body on a railway track in Sarojini Nagar to make the death appear as suicide. They also allegedly destroyed mobile phones, including the victim’s, to mislead the investigation.
The case was initially registered under BNS Sections 87 and 137(2), which are now being escalated to Sections 140(1) (kidnapping with intent to murder), 103(1) (murder), 238 (destroying evidence), and 3(5) (common intention). Vaibhav Singh Rajput has a prior criminal history under BNS, POCSO Act, and SC/ST Act.
All four accused have been sent to judicial custody, and police assured the victim’s family of a fair and thorough investigation.
