Ann Maasberg Arrested for Animal Neglect in Evansville

51-year-old charged after 16 dogs found without food or water

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A woman has been arrested following an animal cruelty investigation at a home on East Blackford Avenue.

Police identified the homeowner as 51-year-old Ann Maasberg. During a welfare check, officers found 16 dogs and eight puppies living in poor conditions.

Maasberg told police she recently moved to Kentucky and claimed she visited the property three times daily to care for the animals. However, officers noted that several dogs and all the puppies lacked access to food and water.

Maasberg now faces 24 counts of animal neglect.
