In a major drug bust, Samba police arrested two individuals, Ankit Bhat and Manoj Kumar Bhat, for allegedly trafficking heroin (chitta) in the Vijaypur area. The arrests were made during a routine vehicle check at Naka AIIMS.
According to police reports, a team led by SHO PS Vijaypur, under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas, intercepted a scooter (registration number JK02CP-3802) for a routine check. Upon inspecting the vehicle, 17 grams of heroin were found in the possession of the two men.
The accused, Ankit Bhat, son of Chaman Lal Bhat from Roopnagar Jammu, and Manoj Kumar Bhat, son of Pridiman Krishan Bhat from Subash Nagar Rehari Jammu, were arrested on the spot. Police seized the contraband and the scooter used in the crime.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 51/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details and connections in the drug trafficking network.
