In a significant drug seizure in Indore, three youths were arrested on Monday, with MDMA drugs valued at around Rs 3.8 lakh recovered from their possession.
According to Additional DCP Amarendra Singh, the Vijay Nagar police team noticed a scooter carrying three young men attempting to avoid a checkpoint during a routine vehicle inspection drive. The suspects were intercepted and identified as Ankit, a resident of Barkheda village, Khargone district, currently residing in Piplihana, Indore; and Ankur Purohit and Tanmay Sharma, residents of Azad Nagar.
During the search, officers seized 16.2 grams of MDMA from Ankit, 10.4 grams from Ankur, and 11.4 grams from Tanmay, totaling 38 grams of MDMA worth approximately Rs 3.8 lakh.
All three were formally arrested, and a case under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Vijay Nagar police station. Further investigation is ongoing to trace sources and networks linked to the narcotics.
