In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police on Friday arrested three individuals, including a notorious woman drug dealer, and seized 555 grams of brown sugar worth approximately Rs60 lakh.
The arrest was made near Harirajpur Chhak under the jurisdiction of Jatni Police Station, following a tip-off received by the Special Crime Unit.
Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh stated that the operation was meticulously planned and executed to target key figures in the local drug network.

Anita Paramguru (41) – noted woman drug trafficker
Rajendra Kumar Sahu (32)
Shiba Prasad Dash (28)
Alongside the narcotics, the police also recovered:
Rs5.10 lakh in cash
Two SUVs
Five mobile phones
Gold ornaments
The total value of the seizure is estimated at ₹1 crore, making this one of the largest recent drug-related operations in the region.
Police officials confirmed that the accused will be presented in court, and investigations are ongoing to trace the wider supply chain, financial links, and possible connections to interstate syndicates.
“This marks a major breakthrough in our ongoing anti-drug campaign,” said a senior police officer. “We are committed to breaking the backbone of criminal networks threatening our communities.”
