Kokrajhar: A health care scam involving the use of fake medical qualifications has been uncovered with the arrest of Anisur Rahman, alias ‘Munna Bhai MBBS,’ by Kokrajhar police.
Anisur allegedly secured a position in the National Mobile Unit Health Service using a forged MBBS degree, despite holding only a Homeopathy degree from Jorhat. He joined the service on September 1 before police apprehended him in the Titaguri area of Kokrajhar town.
Authorities stated that Anisur deceived government officials and the public by presenting fraudulent credentials, thereby illegally entering the health care system.
Kokrajhar Additional SP Azija Gulenur confirmed that the accused has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 319(2), 316(2), 336(2), 125, and 271, with the case registered as 216/25 at Kokrajhar Sadar police station.
The police are probing deeper to assess the full extent of the scam and potential accomplices involved.
