Anil Chaudhary, Three Others Arrested for Rs 50 Lakh Jewellery Theft

Four Men Nabbed; 563g Gold Recovered from Chowk Workshop

The Lucknow Police arrested four men in connection with the theft of gold worth nearly Rs 50 lakh from a jewellery workshop in Chowk earlier this month.

Accused Details

The accused have been identified as:

Anil Chaudhary (24) – Wazirganj, main accused and craftsman at the workshop for 3–4 years

Yasir Hussain (27) – Sheesh Mahal

Mohammad Mazhar (30) – Hussainabad

Umesh Kannaujia (32) – Madiaon

Incident and Recovery

According to ADCP (West) Dhananjay Singh Kushwaha, Anil Chaudhary allegedly fled on August 4 with around 700 grams of semi-finished jewellery.

Following a tip-off, police conducted operations near Hussainabad Inter College and recovered 563.18 grams of stolen semi-finished ornaments from the accused’s possession.

Investigation Status

The main accused, being an insider craftsman, used his access to the workshop to carry out the theft. Police continue to investigate the case and are examining whether the accused were involved in any other similar offences in the region.
