New Delhi — In a major breakthrough, the Delhi Police has busted a high-level drug trafficking syndicate operating in the capital and arrested five suspects, including Anil Bhola (50) — one of Delhi’s top three alleged heroin distributors.
According to Special Commissioner Ravindra Singh Yadav, Bhola was wanted by multiple enforcement agencies, including the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Delhi Police’s Special Cell. He had been evading arrest despite being on the radar for over two decades.
During the operation, police seized 6 kilograms of heroin, estimated to be worth Rs12 crore in the illicit market.
Bhola, who has two previous drug-related convictions, is now facing fresh charges under the NDPS Act. Investigations revealed that he had built a real estate empire using drug proceeds. Authorities have begun the process of attaching his assets, including:
Four flats in Delhi
A plot in Rohtak, Haryana
Two cars and two scooters
His first FIR dates back to 1998, and he has since been named in over a dozen cases, said a senior officer. Bhola maintained a lavish lifestyle, living well beyond his reported income, financed entirely through illicit narcotics trade.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to trace Bhola’s networks, suppliers, and financial trail.
