Andrew LaFountaine Arrested for Stolen Vehicle in West Fargo

26-year-old faces multiple charges after car theft

WEST FARGO, N.D. — A homeless man was arrested Monday night after allegedly stealing a vehicle in West Fargo.

Police were dispatched around 10:15 PM to the 3300 block of Sheyenne Street after a 911 caller reported a running vehicle had been taken while the keys were in the ignition.

About 20 minutes later, officers received a Flock Safety Camera notification that the vehicle was spotted near 7th Avenue and 17th Street East. Authorities attempted a traffic stop and eventually pinned the vehicle in a cul-de-sac near the 700 block of 50th Street South.

Twenty-six-year-old Andrew LaFountaine was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a DUI test, driving under suspension, and multiple probation violations.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
