VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Volusia County are investigating claims against a local roofer accused of defrauding customers of more than $30,000.
Andrew Ingram, 44, was arrested Saturday on multiple charges including an organized scheme to defraud over $20,000, grand theft, and obtaining property by fraud. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said Ingram is affiliated with Busy Bee Roofing and may have scammed additional customers.
In one case, a Port Orange homeowner paid Ingram a $21,000 deposit for a new roof in November. Investigators said he never applied for permits, delivered materials, or showed up on the scheduled start dates. Despite repeated excuses and a refund request, the victim reportedly never heard back.
Another case in Edgewater involved a $9,000 payment for roofing services that were also never rendered.
