Andrew Ingram Arrested for $30K Roofing Scam

Unlicensed roofer faces multiple theft charges in Volusia

by Sophia Bennett

A 44-year-old unlicensed roofer, Andrew Robert Ingram of Edgewater-based Busy Bee Roofing, was arrested for allegedly stealing $30,000 from two customers in Volusia County, authorities reported.

The investigation began after a Port Orange resident claimed that Ingram accepted a $21,000 deposit for a new roof in November 2024 but never applied for a permit, delivered materials, or showed up on promised start dates. After repeated excuses, the victim requested a refund but heard nothing further. Ingram was charged with scheme to defraud and grand theft.

During the investigation, deputies discovered that Ingram had allegedly stolen an additional $9,000 from another customer in Edgewater. An extra warrant was issued for his arrest.

On May 17, Ingram was taken into custody and booked into Volusia County Jail on a $55,000 bond. He faces charges including organized scheme to defraud (over $20,000), two counts of grand theft, and obtaining property by fraud (less than $20,000).
