Andrew Brown Charged in Hildebran Semi-Truck Thefts

$45K in stolen vehicles recovered across Burke County

HILDEBRAN, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two semi-trucks stolen from separate businesses in Hildebran have been recovered, and Andrew Brown is now in custody, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the stolen trucks was pulling a 53-foot cargo trailer, which was later discovered abandoned on Leger Road in Valdese. During the investigation, detectives identified Andrew Brown as a suspect.

Later the same day, one of the missing semi-trucks was located partially concealed behind a residence on South Fork Avenue in Hickory.

The next day, deputies were tipped off about the location of the second stolen truck near NC 18 South and DAV Avenue. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Brown without incident.

Authorities confirmed that the total value of the recovered vehicles is approximately $45,000.

Brown now faces two felony counts of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.
