FORT MYERS, Fla. — Two Colombian nationals were arrested on Thursday in Fort Myers, Florida, after law enforcement agents seized more than a pound of “pink cocaine,” also known as Tusi. The arrests were made as part of an operation targeting the trafficking of the dangerous synthetic drug.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Andres Felipe Gavira-Carvajal, 32, and Marilu Becerra Betancourt, 56, were taken into custody on drug trafficking charges. Pink cocaine, a dangerous and potentially deadly street drug, is commonly a mixture of fentanyl, ketamine, and MDMA, substances that carry an increased risk of overdose due to their potency and unpredictable composition.
Authorities have warned that the use of Tusi is on the rise, making it a growing concern within the drug trade. While both suspects face drug trafficking charges, additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Both Gavira-Carvajal and Betancourt remain in custody as law enforcement continues to probe the distribution network behind this illicit drug.
