In a shocking case of premeditated murder, Lokam Lakshmi Madhuri, her lover, and an accomplice were arrested for allegedly killing her husband, Lokam Sivanagaraju, by feeding him poisoned biryani and smothering him. The incident occurred on the night of January 18 in Lokamvari Veedhi.

Authorities said the murder was motivated by Madhuri’s extramarital relationship. The accused reportedly planned the crime carefully. Madhuri is alleged to have cooked biryani laced with about 20 sleeping pills, which caused Sivanagaraju to fall into a drug-induced sleep. The sedatives were procured by Kambhampati Suresh of Erraguntlapadu and delivered to Madhuri via her lover, Lakkaraju, of Garlapadu village.

Once the victim lost consciousness, Madhuri and Lakkaraju allegedly assaulted him, striking his chest with a wooden rolling pin, causing rib fractures. He was then smothered to death, resulting in asphyxiation. Initially, the accused attempted to make the death appear as a natural cardiac arrest, officials said.

Suspicious family members alerted police, prompting an investigation. A post-mortem examination revealed internal injuries and signs of violent assault, confirming the death was a result of homicide and not natural causes.

Police confirmed that all three accused are now in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
