Anand Amingad Among 3 Held in Udupi Gold Chain Theft

Police crack case within 4 hours in Kapu taluk

Police in Udupi district arrested three individuals accused of stealing a gold chain worth Rs3.5 lakh within just four hours of the crime being reported.

The theft occurred in Shankarapura of Kurkalu village in Kapu taluk on Saturday.

According to the police, the arrested suspects have been identified as Anand alias Hasansab Amingad, 49, a resident of Joida taluk in Uttara Kannada district, along with Kiran Dharmaraj Godimani, 19, and Shashidhar, 19, both from Haliyal taluk in the same district.

Police teams quickly launched a search operation after the complaint was registered and managed to track down the suspects within a few hours.

Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the theft and whether the accused were involved in similar crimes in the region.
