Amritsar rural police arrested two drug smugglers, Sahibdeep Singh from Hardo Rattan village and Sukhbir Singh from Mulla Behram village, who were linked to a Pakistan-based drug trafficker named Kali. Authorities seized 4.1 kilograms of heroin from their possession.
According to Aditya Warrior, Superintendent of Police, the duo was involved in smuggling heroin from Pakistan with the help of drones. Following specific intelligence, the Special Cell apprehended Sahibdeep and Sukhbir near Baba Gulab Shah Dargah link road. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered in connection with the seizure.
Police investigations are ongoing to uncover the full network involved, including their associates and properties accumulated through illegal drug trade, which are likely to be confiscated after evaluation.
Separately, the BSF seized two drones and 1.13 kg of heroin wrapped in yellow material from Dhanoe Kalan border village. The Amritsar rural police have filed separate cases for this seizure as well.
