In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Amritsar rural police have arrested four drug peddlers and seized 500 grams of heroin from their possession. The arrested individuals were identified as Lakhbir Singh, Avtar Singh, and Shamsher Singh, all residents of Bhindi Saida, and Manjit Singh alias Kaka of Saidpura Kalan village.

According to police authorities, a team conducting a naka (check-post) near Bhindi Aulakh Kalan became suspicious when they noticed three individuals riding motorbikes along a kutcha lane near the village drain, coming from Kuttiwal village. Upon stopping the suspects and conducting a search, police recovered a packet of heroin hidden in Lakhbir Singh’s waist, tied with a black headgear.

A case under sections 21, 25, 29, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the suspects. Further investigations are underway to determine the source of the contraband, with the police suspecting that the drugs were smuggled into the region using a drone.
