In a major crackdown, police have busted a notorious burglary gang involved in over two dozen thefts across multiple districts in Punjab. Eight suspects have been arrested, including key figure Amreek Singh alias America, who has a history of theft-related offences.
SP (Headquarters) Manvinder Bir Singh confirmed that the gang operated out of Ferozepur and Ludhiana districts. The arrested individuals are:

The arrests followed a burglary on the night of August 19–20 in Sethia Wala Mohalla, Faridkot, where two shops were broken into and robbed of an inverter, batteries, LED TVs, DVR system, iPhone, and cash.
During the investigation, police recovered:
Three inverter batteries
One inverter
One air-conditioner with stabilizer
Two LED TVs
Two vehicles: Scorpio and Innova
Sharp-edged weapons
Authorities revealed that Amreek Singh provided scrap vehicles to the gang for use in their burglaries and later retrieved them post-crime. He already faces five previous theft cases.
This gang is linked to 26 criminal cases, including burglary, preparation for dacoity, and Arms Act violations, across various districts.
Police emphasized that the operation was a significant step in curbing organized theft rings in the region.
