In a major crackdown on illegal gambling, six individuals were arrested by the Lasudia police on charges of operating a high-stakes online betting racket from a rented flat in the city. The arrests were made during a raid conducted on the basis of a tip-off.
The accused have been identified as Amit Gautam (mastermind), Arpit Keshwani, Rahul Rajak, Shubham Jaiswal, Aniket Patel, and Ajay Jaiswal. The police team, led by SI Sanjay Bishnoi, confiscated 35 mobile phones, 6 tablets, and betting records worth lakhs of rupees.
According to police sources, the group operated through the ‘Ready Anna’ betting application, based in Karnataka. The accused allegedly used the app to register bets and manage wins and losses of their clients. In an attempt to evade detection, they quickly blocked their user IDs once they sensed a police operation was underway.
The investigation also revealed that the mobile SIM cards used were issued under fake identities, and several bank account details linked to the racket were discovered.
Police believe Amit Gautam played a central role by recruiting the others and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the betting ring. He is currently being interrogated by the Lasudia police as part of a broader investigation into the network’s operations and financial links.
Authorities are now expanding their probe to determine whether more individuals or betting groups are involved in this illegal gambling syndicate.
