In a major theft case, the Delhi Police have arrested two individuals, including a security guard, for allegedly stealing expensive air conditioning units and electrical materials from a store room in the Amaryllis Unity EWS Tower, Sidhipura, Central Delhi.
The theft, which took place on June 12, involved several high-end AC units, copper wires, and fittings worth several lakh rupees. Based on a complaint, an FIR was filed at Desh Bandhu Gupta Road Police Station, and a team launched an intensive probe.
Following CCTV footage analysis, Amit Dubey, a resident of Karawal Nagar, was apprehended during police raids. During interrogation, Dubey named Shivam Singh of Ghaziabad as an accomplice. Another suspect, Kapil Dev, a security guard at the premises, was found to have aided the criminals by providing access.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan said eight AC units, five bundles of copper wire, an iron rod cutter, and a mobile phone left by Dubey were recovered. Two vehicles used in the crime were also seized.
Shivam Singh remains absconding, and efforts are underway to locate him.
