Amguri Police Arrest Dreaded Bike Thief Lakshyajyoti Khargharia

Stolen Hero Splendor recovered; multiple cases pending

Amguri, Sivasagar: On Tuesday night, Amguri police arrested Lakshyajyoti Khargharia (28), also known as Maina, a dreaded bike lifter wanted across Assam. The arrest took place during a routine police patrol at around 1:30 AM on NH-61 near Amguri town.

Lakshyajyoti, a resident of Namti Khemdaipukhuri village under Haluating police station, confessed to stealing a Hero Splendor motorcycle (registration AS03R9037) from Jorhat city earlier that day.

Following his arrest, the Amguri police handed him over to Jorhat police, where a case was registered under Section 305 (B) of the BNS Act (Case No. 449/2025) at Jorhat Sadar police station. Authorities revealed that several other cases have been filed against Lakshyajyoti in various police stations across Assam, highlighting his involvement in multiple vehicle thefts.
