Orange County, FL – A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man earlier this month in Orange County.
On August 2, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of gunfire on Norwich Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Javore Tyleek Bentley suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
After weeks of investigation, authorities announced the arrest of Amber Shinice Dozier, 32, in Alachua County. She has been charged with second-degree murder with a firearm.
Bentley’s aunt, Latrina Wilcox, shared a heartfelt statement with local media, describing her nephew as a “loving, down-to-earth” person who deeply cherished his role as a father.
“He truly loved being a father, and that love showed in everything he did,” she said. “Although we miss him dearly, no one truly wins. Children and families on both sides have lost someone deeply important to them.”
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details on the motive or circumstances of the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
